Smith’s SuperValu in Johnstown Shopping Centre wins Best Large Store Award for 2019

Smith’s SuperValu in Navan, Co Meath has been named Best Large SuperValu Store for 2019.

The retailer beat stiff competition from other finalists to receive the Best Large Store Award at the SuperValu National Conference, which was held in the Great Southern Hotel, Killarney. The team at Navan were presented with the award by Martin Kelleher, SuperValu Managing Director, Ian Allen, SuperValu Sales Director and JF Michel, Account Director of Three Business, the competition’s sponsors.

Winning the large store title is recognition of the exceptional standards that Smith’s SuperValu in Navan has attained. The Meath store beat competing outlets throughout the Republic of Ireland, which were audited and adjudicated by independent competition judge and retail consultant, Matthew Brown. The store audits focused on product range and quality, customer service, store presentation and innovation, fresh food offering and store hygiene standards.

Receiving the award, Denis Smith paid tribute to his team in Navan and acknowledged that their enthusiasm and dedication was instrumental in the store scooping the award. “I’d like to thank all of the hard-working, dedicated staff for this great victory. We’re lucky to have great employees working for us who strive to deliver the best customer experience, day in day out. Our Business is all about offering our customers quality fresh foods with great value coupled with great service.“

Speaking at the awards, Martin Kelleher, Managing Director, SuperValu congratulated Smith’s of Navan, commenting, “This year, competition was very close across all categories, but Smith’s of Navan stood out and won the Best Large SuperValu Store award for consistently providing its shoppers with a great shopping experience. Big changes in the pipeline for Johnstown Shopping Centre, Navan

Johnstown Shopping Centre in Navan has undergone a lot of exciting changes in the last few months which is good news for both customers and retailers alike. Several new stores have joined the shopping centre line up making the centre fully occupied. In addition to this, existing stores within the centre are expanding and upgrading their current premises.

Park Avenue, which recently opened in Johnstown Shopping Centre, is a high-end giftware and jewellery shop that carries upmarket brands like Orla Kiely, Ted Baker, Cath Kidson, Cluse and Tipperary Crystal. It offers a brilliant selection of on trend jewelry and homeware, perfect for Christmas shopping!

Another new store announcement which has caused considerable excitement among its fans is Costa Coffee. Costa Coffee have started fit-out works and are due to open in early December. Costa Coffee opened its first store in Ireland in 2005 and has been growing ever since with a multiple of stores throughout Ireland.

Apart from new store openings, current retailers in Johnstown Shopping Centre are also increasing the size of their premises and upgrading their store to cater to customer’s growing demand. SuperValu has just completed a largescale renovation of their store and have employed a new head chef and head baker who will be producing delicious sweet and savoury treats fresh everyday.

Day Today News has relocated to a newer and bigger unit within the shopping centre and Boyles Sports are also expanding their current premises.
